Template library

A template is a starting point for an event page: a set of blocks with their content, a theme (colours, fonts, corners and logo) and any custom CSS. Whoever creates an event picks a template and a brand kit, and the event page starts as a copy of the template with the brand kit’s colours, fonts and logo on top.

Your library starts with the Mint templates: Blank, Minimal, Conference, Gala, Meetup, Webinar and Product launch. They’re your organisation’s own copies, so you can change them, add your own and delete the ones you don’t use.

  • Using templates: anyone who can create events or edit event pages. They pick a template when creating an event, or start an event’s page again from one in the event page designer.
  • Managing the library: people whose role can Manage the template library, by default Admin, Group Manager and Creative Specialist. Only they see Template library in the sidebar, under Libraries. It isn’t available with a Host licence. See Team and roles.

An event copies its template when it’s created. After that, the event’s page and the template are separate:

  • Changing a template only affects events created from it afterwards. Events that already used it keep their own page.
  • Deleting a template never changes an event.
  • Changing an event’s page never changes the template.

Blocks linked to a saved block stay linked in every event that starts from the template, so a shared block such as a standard footer stays up to date everywhere.

  1. Open the template

Go to Template library and select the template, or open its ⋯ menu and select Edit page. It opens in the page designer, with Template: before its name at the top.

  2. Change the page

Add, remove, reorder and edit blocks, and change the theme and custom CSS, just as you would on an event page. The preview shows the template on a sample event called Your event title, a month from today at Venue name, so you can see how tags such as {{event.title}} fill in.

  3. Select Save

You see Template saved. The back arrow at the top left takes you back to the library.

To change a template’s name or the description people see when they pick it, open its ⋯ menu and select Name & description.

There are three ways:

  • From an event’s page: in the event page designer, select Save as template at the top. Give it a name and, optionally, a description, then select Save. You see Saved to the template library. The template gets a copy of the page as it is in the designer, including changes you haven’t saved yet. The event keeps its own page.
  • From another template: open the template’s ⋯ menu and select Duplicate. The copy, named “(copy)”, opens in the designer.
  • From scratch: select New template. Untitled template opens in the designer with an empty page. Add blocks, or select Theme › Start from a template… to copy another template’s page in.

New templates go at the end of the library.

The default template is picked for you when someone creates an event. It’s marked Default in the library, and starts as Minimal. To change it, open another template’s ⋯ menu and select Make default.

Open its ⋯ menu, select Delete, then confirm. Events that started from it keep their own page.

When an event starts from a template with a brand kit, the brand kit’s first colour set, its fonts and its primary logo replace the template’s. The template’s blocks, corners and custom CSS stay as they are.

To make a template work with every brand kit:

  • In a block’s Style settings, choose one of the theme’s colour swatches (their names start with Theme:, for example Theme: Buttons) rather than a colour of your own. Theme colours follow the brand kit; your own colours stay the same whatever the brand. A theme colour used for several things, such as text and buttons, has one swatch named after all of them.
  • In custom CSS, use theme variables such as var(--ev-primary) instead of colour codes.
